CuZn Brass Quintet was started in 2018 after founding member Thomas Beaudry graduated from McGill University. Originally an excuse to read music and drink beer, the group soon took a more serious direction when they were asked to participate in a recording session at McGill University under the direction of Grammy Award winning recording artist Steve Epstein.

The quintet consists of five classically trained musicians, all with slightly different musical interests. As a result, the group prides itself in the ability to play in many different styles, from Bach to the Beach Boys.
